I guess I never really thought about it.  It sounds like he's saying "snoop the hall" but even if I'd ever read "snooker hall" in the lyrics (which I don't recall ever doing) I probably would have just written it off as some Irish colloquialism.  I did preface my original remark with a "pardon my ignorance" after all.
