The prayer also included blessings for gay citizens.

There was very clearly a conscious effort to emphasize LGBT rights and to promote inclusion and acceptance at this inuaguration. I find this fascinating and promising.

So do I. 

It is certainly not acceptable to discriminate against any ethnic group.  So, why is it "okay" to do this towards a person's sexual orientation?

Now, the question right now is whether we can reduce the deficit in a way that helps the economy grow, that operates with a scalpel, not with a hatchet, and if not, whether Congress is willing to stick to the painful deal that we made in August for the automatic cuts.  Already, some in Congress are trying to undo these automatic spending cuts.  My message to them is simple:  No.  I will veto any effort to get rid of those automatic spending cuts to domestic and defense spending.  There will be no easy off ramps on this one.

72% of Americans support a path to citizenship being part of immigration reform in some way.

71% of Americans say passing gun reform legislation should be a priority; 83% support universal background checks.

...And so on and so on. It is quite the conundrum for the GOP when their position manages to attract approximately 30% of the American people on every single issue.

Well you are both off, Both the congress and Obama came up with sequestration. It was a compromise idea, the congress passed it and Obama signed it.
