The trailer says Bono , not U2. By the way, it´s my birthday that day! :-)

Cool beans. Good find. I was worried they were just going to show the video for "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" but it looks like there will actually be at least some new interview content with Bono.

Yeah, it's kind of weird, the trailer says "Bono" but they show footage of the aforementioned music video from the whole band for a split second, and the text on the web page says "U2", not "Bono".

U2 were meant to appear on the Mrs Brown show, has that aired yet? I'm not a fan, but I do like Mrs Brown's couch, very comfy.

My 13 yo daughter told me about this a few weeks ago, but I thought it was more a compilation retrospective and not a live appearance. I'm not sure what GMC network is either!  ;)

GMC is the Gospel Music Channel, or it used to be.  Now it pretty much has family type shows and movies.

From looking at the ad trailer, it looks like an old footage compilation to me as well. The only live/new performance seems to be from Jordin Sparks. I don't think this near-unknown GMC channel can afford to bring in so many big name stars: U2, Sting, Bon Jovi, etc. Likely the program only paid for rights to show old 'greatest hits' clips of these big names. I'm just curious about what Christmas tune is Bono-only and not U2?

Nonetheless, thanks for sharing this news!

related question: why is it that U2 only make appearances on late-night talk shows? (Letterman, Conan before he got shelved to TBS, etc)? Are they 'too big' for daytime shows, or is it a different kind of audience?

They performed on Good Morning America around the release of No Line On The Horizon.
