I think the studio version is just fine.  But then I am a studio man.

Why on earth didn't they play Miami in Mexico for the offical tour DVD?  PopMart's Bullet seems lost without Miami.

It's a brilliant exercise in debauchery. Love it live, love it on the album. Yes it's experimental but yet it remains catchy as hell, not an easy thing to accomplish when you're breaking moulds - that'll be a great melody then. Despite the bells and whistles, like the rest of the album, it sounds organic, gritty, spontaneous and delightfully filthy. Up there with the best postcards Bono's ever sent.

And, dare I say it, unfinished?

No song should ever be finished anyway.

But when you read that U2 wanted '......Angels' to sound like 'Diamonds and Pearls'* then thank god they ran out of time.

*Nothing against D&P I love that track, but to think of something that slick and sickly on Pop is all kinds of wrong.

It doesn't surprise me because Bono is in awe of the little guy.  I'm sure I read somewhere once that Bono said Prince is 'er indoors favourite artist.

btw, I prefer the 1992 'Symbol' album to D&P.

I went from thinking its one of U2's worst songs to now thinking it's brilliant.

I did the same with Babyface on Zooropa.

How?

I've spend a decent amount of time in my life in Miami, the song captures the city perfectly.

Love the live versions (was one of the highlights of DC Popmart), not so much the studio original

Really love the song. For me, the live version was one of the highlights of the Popmart tour, right up there with Please
