I dont care who won it, but how is FUN considered a "New Artist" when they released an album a few years ago before their current one?

Don't know the rules, just wondering. I thought you had to have a debut album for that?

It's stupid how that works.

Basically the grammies wanted to capitalize on the sudden popularity of the band. And the fact that the majority of the general public probably watching the grammies didn't have a clue that fun existed until their recent album.

I'm on the west coast so I haven't seen it yet but I heard Jack White blew all the other performances away. I'm surprised  he didn't win anything

Blunderbuss should have won. I like Mumford and Sons but Babel sounded like the same song over and over while Blunderbuss was so diverse

I would have been happy if that had won too. I love both albums.

Bruno Mars pays tribute to Bob Marley by playing one of his songs?

And what's the deal with Frank Ocean? Am I supposed to take him seriously or...?

this year has been meh.

best performances were fun. and Alicia Keys and Maroon 5. although Alicia's part was much better. I'm sure The Black Keys and Frank Ocean will be added

so happy fun., Frank Ocean and The Black Keys won.

please don't let Jack White or Mumford and Sons *they were so boring* win anything

You are joking. Right? You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Not my favorite version, but assuredly not boring...

MdMom - I wasn't saying Jack's performance was boring. I was talking about Mumford I wasn't a big fan, but it was not boring.

Star - the first part with Bruno than just Sting wasn't the tribute. I actually quite enjoyed the tribute too.

and Frank Ocean is amazing.

I agree that fun. shouldn't be considered new artist but they deserve every award they get

lastly, Babel for album of the year, really?. I agree with AJ that ALL their songs sound the same. I really, really don't like their music.

also wish Muse made an appearence

Oh. okay.

You said you liked Maroon 5 and Alicia Keyes, two who I don't really find anything special about. Now I'll have to go find their performance.

LOVED Carrie Underwood's vocals on her medley, but the light effect thing on her skirt was annoying. She needs no gimmicks.

Very cool that fun. did the rain effect. Do they do that in their concerts too? I imagine not.

lastly, why are all these folky bands becoming so popular.

I'd love to see a battle of the bands: The Lumineers and Mumford and Songs vs. 90's Oasis and Muse

I'd love to see who wins

I'm not a big fan of of Maroon 5 but I love Alicia Keys. she's yummy

Carrie Underwood was ok. I agree the skirt was annoying but *look at Alicia Keys*

fun. was the best of the night by far. they're playing Atlanta friday but there are no tickets left. I hope they add a date to their summer tour. trying to get my friend into them

Throw in Of Monsters and Men and they'd likely win the folksy run off.

I think you'd have to compare the ones mentioned with Silversun Pickups or Metric rather than Oasis and Muse. They'd still lose w/ me.  ;)

Or, you could just throw The Black Keys in there and please both sets.  ;) You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I just saw it and Jack White's performance was by far the best of the night. It seemed the crowd loved him too with their standing ovation.
Also it was funny that Jack's guitar was still making a buzzing sound when Katy Perry came out ;D

I cannot believe nobody has mentioned Miguel!  ::) Blew everyone away, especially Mr. Overrated himself, Frank Ocean.

Although Mumford shouldn't have won Best Album. That belonged to Fun.
