Beach House is a local band. I must listen to their stuff. I've heard a few tracks on the local Indie station. BlueSilkenSky really has started to like Walk The Moon and Wombats, so they need a listen too. I've definitely heard Wombats before, not sure about WTM.

I'm not a big Fiona Apple fan, but this is an amazing album. Great songwriting.

I <3 your awesome forum memory, MDMom.  And indeed, if it weren't for new bands coming into my life, I'd be pretty bummed in these in between U2 years.

WALK THE MOON's debut is excellent. From their use of social media and stage antics, they seem like really nice guys too.

P.S. does everyone except me have a local indie radio station? Jealous, but I'll get by with occasional surprised on my Pandora station.

P.P.S. does having an indie station conflict with the meaning of indie?
