Favorite Opening Act for U2?

i got the Fray in Denver. Muse in Arlington, TX. Florence would of been good

If they had Coldplay, The Killers, and Florence as well as many other big acts that is surprising to me.
Usually when I think of opening acts I think of less known bands, not bands that have had their own world tours.

I'm pretty sure Coldplay opened for U2 in 2001; they weren't that big then.

Exactly. At that point Yellow was the only hit they'd had. Was it just the Slane Castle gig they opened for or a few dates?

The best I saw was No Doubt and the worst I saw was Oasis.  Liam Gallagher was such an a$$ to the audience that I pretty much quit being an Oasis fan from that day on.  It wasn't like their music changed much anyway.  No Doubt, on the other hand was a band I actually didn't like at all, but they impressed me with their performance to the point where I bought an album or two.  They gained respect from me.

There are many I wish I could have seen.  I've heard recordings of Pearl Jam opening for U2 back in 2006 in Hawaii (not sure if they opened for U2 anywhere else on that tour), and it was quite impressive.  I'm not sure of the quality, but I would have liked to have seen Garbage when they opened for U2...

The Fray were probably the least unpleasant of the bunch. Interpol made me want to drive nails into my ears.

yea i'd of liked to of seen them or Rage open. Oakenfold dj'd a few Zoo TV shows that would of been cool to see possibly.

I think Hawaii was PJ's one gig on the Vertigo tour...but they did open a number of shows on the Zooropa tour.
