Favorite Opening Act for U2?

I've only seen Dashboard Confessional, Snow Patrol, and Interpol (2x) open for the band in person. I'd probably have to choose Dashboard as the one I preferred, since I wasn't big on the other two. I suppose it could've been worse, but there's a few acts listed here who I wouldn't have minded replacing them with! I could picture one of the 360 shows with Kravitz or Muse opening being fun. Arcade Fire too.

The Fray were probably the least unpleasant of the bunch. Interpol made me want to drive nails into my ears.

Yeah, I hope they get some better opening acts

Florence and the Machine was terrific, but she felt so small in such a huge stadium. I was too into seeing U2 live for the first time ever to pay her the attention she deserved. However, I did pay to see her headline this past September.

One dd would have loved The Fray, the other dd would have loved Snow Patrol, all daughters would have loved Muse and me too! I'd take any of those three.

I've seen Public Enemy/The Sugar Cubes, PJ Harvey, The Fray and I honestly can't remember who opened for the PopMart tour. I guess if I had to choose, it would be PJ.

"Chore" - That's a really good term for it.

Just looked it up - apparently Fun Loving Criminals opened both shows in Edmonton for Pop Mart. Who knew?

I think their one hit was called "Scooby Snacks", which should tell you all you need to know right there. I was fortunate enough to miss them in Columbus, but not so lucky in Chicago. One of the worst bands I've ever seen.

My favorite opening acts for U2 are the ones that I never got to see at a U2 concert, but have seen live (most of them) at their own headlining concert: Public Enemy (the one group I've never seen live), Kraftwerk (Paramount Theatre - Seattle 2003), Garbage (Pacific NW - Vancouver/Seattle/Portland, 2002 & 2012), & Florence & The Machine (Pacific NW - 2012). I wish I could've seen these acts open for U2 as those concerts would have been complete concerts from start to finish.

Yea the only band i feel this way about would be the Pixies, as it was their final tour before breaking up. And on Zoo TV no less.
