I agree. Im a big fan for sure and i do question them from time to time but some of the comments on here remind me of the U2 haters down my local pub!

going off the horizon album it was 4 years 4 months after the bomb album. so i reckon june 2013 for a new album, shouldve heard something by now though. its dragging on a bit!

In this case I don't think it's the music that will be the delay.  As others have said the band hasn't had enough time off yet.  They did a 3 year tour that ended just last year.  I doubt they are anxious to get back on the road - even if they fly everywhere. 

So regardless of if a record with DM is close, I don't expect them to release it until they are willing to perform it live.  Which I think puts us at the end of 2013 or early 2014 to setup a summer 2014 tour.  But that's assuming they want to tour so soon after 360.

In those 760 days they played 110 shows, not exactly a gruelling schedule.

Having said that, 2014 at the earliest for a new album.

Well, slightly more grueling than you make it sound when you consider a whole year break for Bonos back.
And still, having said that late 2013 is still very possible for a new album.

I love the suggestion that Bono taking time off for major spinal surgery was him "taking a break" and the implication that he's lazy. Gotta love the compassion.
