I actually had to go look the lyrics up on U2.com. I still think we are right.

Well, Edge is quite fond of his Chuck Taylors, so you may be right...  ;)

There's only one way to find out. Find Bono. Ask him. Report back.

I just listened to the early mix of All Because of You...and I could've sworn he said "Next to eggs, I was so close to eggs..." at the beginning. And in One Step Closer, when I first got the album, I thought he was saying "I'm across the roach from hope" vice "...the road..."  :-[

Well it was a misheard lyric that made me sit up and take notice of U2 in the first place. I'm eleven or twelve, I'm listening to MTV and suddenly I hear "Angel...Angel of Holland!" So as a Dutchie I felt proud for a few minutes...until I saw the song title. (I can make it stretch since Harlem is named after the Dutch city of Haarlem but yeah, no  ;D)

I must say however that I'm devasted to learn on that Misheard Lyrics site that Desire is not "And the fever when I'm inside her" - I always thought that was so daringly sexy of them! Damn.

Well, that is how Bono usually sings the song live...which, after all these years, still shocks me.

I have lived long enough to "hear" someone call Bono "sexy thang".

Well, here's a new one for me.

This is what I hear in "Stand Up Comedy":

"I can stand up for hope, faith, love
But while I’m getting over charity
Stop helping God across the road like a little old lady"

This is what Bono is actually singing:

"I can stand up for hope, faith, love
But while I’m getting over certainty
Stop helping God across the road like a little old lady"

I have to admit, I was confused that Bono is singing about getting over charity in a song that is supposed to motivate people to make a difference; so, knowing the actual lyric, that part of the song makes a lot more sense! :)

Also, from "Stand Up Comedy".

This is what I hear:

"Soul rocket people moving on
Soul rocket people on and on"

This is what they're actually singing:

"Soul rockin’ people moving on
Soul rockin’ people on and on"

The actual lyric makes more sense, but I think "soul rocket" sounds more fun.  I know I'd like to move on as a soul rocket! :D

At 3:02 of Moment of Surrender, it sure sounds like Bono belts out, "I PEED IN EVERY BLACK HOLE!" An argument could be made that perhaps he was summoning his inner homeless person, although the printed lyrics would seem to suggest otherwise. Unfortunately, every time I listen, that's what I hear!
