I have many favorites, although most I can't wear them myself - weird pheremones. So I enjoy smelling them on others

Estee Lauder - Pleasures, White Linen Breeze, Beautiful, Intuition and Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia (these last two I can wear)
Lancome - Tresor
Chanel - No 5 and Black
Coach Poppy Purple - this one I wear daily

My girls have both the orange and the purple. They smell very good on them. I haven't tried them yet. I think the purple is called Coach Poppy Flower. Not sure which was new last year, but one of the Coach fragrances was and I think it was Flower.

Fragrances smell very different on me than just smelling them on others or on a test strip. When looking for a new fragrance, I like to put it on and walk around an hour or two before I decide. Most perfumes do not last. The ones made with true floral essence last best. Years ago the Tiffany fragrance rep told me that if one uses deodorizing or antibacterial washes it interferes with the fragrance. Tiffany is a true floral essence as are the Chanels. Most are no longer made of true floral essences. The off brand Undpredictable Desire could be as it lasts quite a while and it's cheap! I guess because it doesn't have a big name behind it?

Actually, maybe I should say floral oil, not essence. Not sure which term is correct.  ;)

Do you mean essential oil?

^No, it's not quite that. I recall her talking about using real flowers in the making of Tiffany and how most fragrances were no longer made this way. She also mentioned that Chanel still used real flowers in some if not most of their perfumes.

I've got rather eclectic taste ... and the selections will reveal my fossilessness ... In no particular, order, my top five would be
[1] Yves Saint Laurent - Pour Homme - the original lemony one that came about many years ago
[2] Givenchy - Gentleman - but Givenchy is the top cologne brand for men IMHO
[3] Chanel - Bleu
[4] Yves Saint Laurent - La Nuit - The black or night version of the recent lauches, but not the stuff in the frosted bottle as it smells a bit too pungent.
[5] Perry Ellis - the original scent for ladies. I actually wore almost a whole bottle of the stuff before I realized it was for the other gender. Still, it smelled great.

In the too much information category, I can't wear anything by Calvin Klein (Eternity, Obsession etc.) as the base notes react chemically and yield an aroma like some musty urinal - seriously.  Keep well.

I love Shalimar wish it still smelled good on me.  Love Perry Ellis 360 too.

Estee Lauder Beautiful smells wonderful in the air, but I can't wear any Estee Lauder makes my eyes water.  :(

I always loved Lancome's Magie Noire, but they don't make it anymore.

^ There's a White Patchouli made by Tom Ford for women which is divine.

Speaking of Tom Ford, my favourite perfume ever is Black Orchid. It's brilliant. But again, pricey.

I've always loved the smell of Patchouli oil.... ;)

Ugh, I hate patchouli!!!

Me too...it very love it or hate it. And I also love Estee Lauder White Linen (reminds me of my mom, because it's her favorite), but forgot to mention it.

My Mom wore Jean Nate. Not really a perfumr but it was all she could afford. I can't stand the secent however I always find it draws me because of all the childhood memories.

D&G - Rose the one
Illamasqua - Freak

Freak supposedly has notes of belladonna, hemlock, frankincense, myrrh and something called Queen of the Night... I got the spiel and my response was basically whatevs, it smells good, here's my money.

Do ingredients sell fragrances? I honestly couldn't give a toss what's in it, if it smells good I'm there.

Oh, and I've always liked a man in Old Spice, apparently that makes me an old fogey, but again, whatevs.

Mmm, Illamasqua is gorgeous. Freak is very lovely.

Slightly off topic but still related - there's a Bath and Body Works body lotion that I'm really impressed with. It didn't smell all sugary fruity teenage girl like most do. It's called Twilight Woods (rather unfortunate name) but my boyfriend loves it and it's only $5 for a small bottle of it. :D

I received a tube of the lotion from my daughter for Christmas. ;-)
