I've never been much of a Beatles fan either. I appreciate what they accomplished but their music never interested me or made me want to listen to it over and over again.

It's different for those of us who were kids when the Beatles came out.  We grew up with them.

I grew up listening to The Beatles. I think they were the first band I ever listened to. But I still think some of their work is overrated. I understand the huge influence they had on music, and there are a lot of songs that I adore... but it's really the quality of the individual songs and not of overall albums that I like. So I wouldn't say any of their albums are the best of all time.

Animal Collective could be yeah... PF? I don't like them at all, so I agree, though they are very influential.

RH? Super influential and a favourite. Also they get so much flak they can't really be overrated. Almost as much as U2.

oh. i've only heard 2003's Here Comes the Indian. I don't remember a second of it, even after looking at the tracklisting. I'll listen again. It's just weird sounds and stuff i remember, not traditional music. Or something?

MPP was what I was referring to. In 2009, it was pretty much described as "OMG BEST ALBUM EVAH" by every single music critic, except Rolling Stone, who said No Line was better, in the one time I agreed with their old-fart sensibilities.

Their new album was a bit of a dud, but MPP is still incredibly overrated. I like weird indie music as much as your average Seattle hipster, but Animal Collective is just pure pretentiousness. And not even fun pretentiousness like Gaga or Kanye. I'll prefer hipster music that I can actually sing or dance to, thank you.
