I found it tough to pick a song from this era, a lot of them are equally bad. I know it gets knocked a ton, but I think its fair. Easily the worst album until HTDAAB. With that said, I chose Fire, and I can;t say why. I honestly get many of the songs from October mixed up because they are so unremarkable....or memorable..

this is how i feel!

I've never been able to really get into October, no matter how much lauding it gets. Hopefully one day I see its beauty.

Wait, you hate all three of the most consistently appreciated songs from October? Or am I misinterpreting your post?

No. Those are the top 3, and i appreciate Scarlett more than i used to, but other than those 4, the rest of the album is forgettable, is what i meant.

October is one of the best U2 albums. I Fall Down is actually one of my favorite U2 songs. October is also the only U2 vinyl I've been able to pick up as well which made me love it even more. I can't vote for this one :D

I don't like the music, either, which can save other churchy songs on the album, such as the awesome Gloria.

The basic lyrical message to With A Shout is essentially the same as Rejoice, which is a vastly superior song. In my opinion, Rejoice is one of U2's greatest rock songs.

With A Shout.

For the same reasons as Droo

Well, another albums that I don't think of any song as bad, but Is That All edges Scarlet as my least favorite track on the album/era.  I'm kind of surprised someone voted for Gloria.  I don't expect it to be a favorite, but it seems odd that it would be worse than even half the songs on the album.  It is an album I enjoy, and I listen to it often, but it definitely feels like a second rate album.

Rejoice but very close to being Is That All? Hard to distinguish between a lot of these sounds which is why even now I keep confusing October's songs, and because he shouts 'rejoice' in Scarlet which is doubly confusing. Has Edge already dropped by and voted for Jerusalem?
