first song i heard was Beautiful Day (the first track off ATYCLB) when i was 3. i cant remember much else from that period of my life but hearing BD for the first time is something i remember so distinctly its like it was yesterday. :)

Mine was either Vertigo or Windows in the Skies, I can't remember which one I listened to first. My brother and I shared our computer at home and we both listened to the same playlist (that he made). Both songs were there among with many others from all kinds of artists and genres. I wasn't fascinated by U2 back then; I didn't become a die-hard fan until late 2010.

NYD  was the song that got my attention and when I went to see them for the first time to hear that one, Pride  is  the one that solidified  things.

Not sure but it will be on the old cassette my older sister gave me when I was 10.... it had some of rattle and hum and some of achtung baby, bizzarely beginning with so cruel... so maybe it was so cruel?....

First song: The Sweetest Thing. It was on the Now or Now 2 album, which I had in like 5th grade I think.
Really got into them: Beautiful Day, which came out the next year and hooked me, along with the songs from ATYCLB. They still played the music videos on Mtv then.  8)

yep :) strangely enough its practically the only thing i can remember before i was 5. but i still remember my dad showing me the ATYCLB album cover and pointing out all the band members, and putting on the CD for me to listen to, and him telling me all about the U2 concerts he went to in the 80's and stuff... so i guess it was meant to be :)

i got the shirt off the official U2 store, but sadly they dont stock that particular shirt anymore :( but i love it!! i wear it nearly everywhere :P

I Will Follow - probably in 1980-81.

Then, New Year's Day (actually saw the video on MTV - I was hooked, locked in, and utterly obsessed with their music from that point on).

First time I heard U2 was popping in my dad's brand new Compact Disc (pretty sure it was still that and not yet a CD) of the Joshua Tree album.  Streets started building and I've been all in ever since with many U2 minded friends helping to build my fanaticism along the way...but it still goes back to Streets.
