I really wish they would do a poll of the worst halftime performances. I think that would be more fun. ;D

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of irrational U2 haters, they'd probably win that too :P

U2 is certainly my favorite. Unfortunately most of the recent performances haven't been interesting to me. I wish they could get someone like The Killers, Foo Fighters, or The Flaming Lips to do it. I'd tune in for that.

I did see a few posts from people who don't care for U2 but consider it one of the best shows, so you never know! I personally didn't care for Black Eyed Peas or even Madonna's performance.

Flaming Lips get their own commercial during the superbowl this year

Are the Flaming Lips playing at Superbowl 2013? I did not see them on the wikipedia entry.

Love U2 so much. They are one of the few bands that have a superbowl halftime all to themselves! (Bruce & his band are another)

Yes, I agree.
But, I was talking about the comments by readers. Sorry, I didn't make that clear.

I can't vote, because if I do, it's gonna be for Prince.

Agree on both of these statements.  I really hope they win, not just because I love U2 but so they might hear about it and feel good about themselves and remember that they quite often knew just what their audience needed.

ESPN analysts actually preferred Aerosmith with Britney Spears over U2.   The reason?  They thought Britney Spears was hot.

As great as U2's performance was, my top pick would be Prince.  I thought he really nailed it.  The Stones were so disappointing, The Black Eyed Peas were a train wreck and Madonna was meh.

I wish they would put Pearl Jam or Van Halen instead of Beyonce, but who knows, maybe she'll surprise me, maybe she'll actually sing.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--how-u2-s-masterful-nfl-performances-in-new-orleans-almost-never-happened-165036221.html

Best article I read about U2 in a long time.

Anyways, the NFL didn't think U2 wouldn't be as marketable for the halftime show??????? Really?
