To be fair, I think the best stuff on Behind is better than the best stuff on Bomb, but the worst stuff on Behind is worse than the worst stuff on Bomb. So Kite > Vertigo, but Peace on Earth < Yahweh.

A good point, I prefer ATYCLB for the high points, but HTDAAB is probaly more consistent in terms of quality.

How can a forum that largely professes to love The First Time hate One Step Closer? Both are low-key songs with understated vocals and deep lyrics, but OSC gets maligned while TFT gets lifted up. It makes no sense to me.

I don't think Bono can carry a vocal like that anymore. I think if U2 recorded TFT in 2013 it wouldn't be half the song, simply because Bono is nowhere near as good a singer as he was back then.

I honestly think Bono could have sang a telephone directory anywhere between 87 and 93, his voice was that good. Unfortunately in the 00's, no matter how good a U2 song was or wasn't, it was always likely to be brought down a notch or two by a poor Bono vocal.
