FTSD was rubbish, a complete disappointment compared to It Might Get Loud. Big fat let down IMO, though it had its moments, it wouldn't be particularly revealing to a non-fan either I don't think.

Oh, I will smack anyone who goes down the Gallagher path and claims that 1D > M&S.
M&S aren't that bad, but I do kinda harbour a pathological hatred towards them for being more popular in Australian than the awesomeness that is Elbow simply because they had a hit song which had f*** in the chorus.

How something that details the birth of One can be called rubbish is beyond me...

And Mumford And Sons are incredible.  They sound so unlike anything out there these days and I love it.

Because it did so in a mediocre way which revealed nothing we didn't already know.

Thoroughly agree (and many of us discussed it at the time). FTSD was a half baked, rushed piece of work that added very little to a story we already knew. It looked like something that was hastily thrown to together for a box set and it did the directorial skills of guggenheim a disservice after the brilliant It might Get Loud.

Shame because with that subject material it could have been incredible.

I like them and have two of their cds.  Mumford and Sons are a fun combination of folk and bluegrass.  Introducing, a new generation to it.  I know.  I am older and that's cool.  But, music was more versitile during the sixties and seventies.  You heard everything from opera, classical, folk, rock, progressive, punk, soul, jazz, country and yes, bluegrass.   We enjoyed all of it.

Read some of their lyrics, not just the chorus.  They are very well written.

Mumford and Sons are decent enough, but they're certainly not original. They only appear original within the microcosm of mainstream pop music.

Check out their version of Amazing Grace from Bonnaroo in 2011.    Great stuff.

That's okay, Briscoe.

I'm surprised that so many twenty something year olds do.  I would think they would appeal to more of my age group (over fiftey).  Since, we grew up hearing country, blue grass and folk.  It was more mainstream music than now.
