and today would have bee Cornell's bday. some speculate it's connected.

and....indie rock? hard rock or nu-metal but. no. nothing indie about LP.

It does seem that way. Cornell and Bennington were friends and it's said that Cornell's death hit Chester hard. Seems too crazily timed to be a coincidence.  :(

They were close as brothers and Chester was overcome with grief. That is true. But, Chester had been dealing with some really horrible emotional demons since he was a young kid. He was a child rape survivor, for starters. Also dealt with his parents divorcing, getting into hard drugs to deal with the trauma he suffered, being bullied so badly in high school that he had to transfer, etc.

It was more likely a combo of everything.

That seems about right. Very rough life. :(

wow! what a special moment to have

A moment that almost didn't happen. It was an outdoor show and it started to thunderstorm so they stopped the show for an hour during the changeover before STP came on. My boyfriend wanted to leave and I kept asking him for 15 more minutes. Thankfully they restarted before he got really impatient and left without me.

I remind as often as I can that without me insisting we stayed, that would have never happened. Slash and Miles Kennedy were headlining that night and I also got a setlist from Slash.

How's the bf?

Found a performance of Glen covering All I want is you. He even says it's one of his all time favourites... Wow You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Walter Becker of Steely Dan...rest in peace.  :'(

I was there the night in 1994 when they recorded this. It was the opening song that night. One of their many masterpieces - "Aja":   You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Had no idea. Saw Steely Dan at Pine Knob a few times. Great band and great summer shows.

Sad news. I do quite like a bit of Can. I also have the Snake Charmer EP he did with The Edge and Jah Wobble
