La Dolce Vita is one of my favorites (and that Trevi Fountain scene is fantastic), though it's not quite my favorite Fellini film. That honor goes to La Strada.

This is really sad news. Even in some of his lesser-known or hyped projects (e.g. Visage) he was remarkably good or creative.

Start with 1965's Live at the Regal, and work your way through the albums he released over the ensuing decade. That's basically the stuff that made him a legend.
