LCD Soundsystem - American Dream

Really good album.  I realized, right now I'm on track to only have bought 3-4 new (current) albums this year.

Leonard Cohen- Death of a Ladies Man
Such a strange album.  Produced by Phil Spector and mostly ignored on all of Cohen's greatest hits compilations.

Wolf Alice - Visions of a Life

Solid record with only a few subpar tracks on it. I've only given it a single listen, but I think that I prefer My Love Is Cool at the moment.

Miley Cyrus - Younger Now, followed by Liam Gallagher - As You Were. Both have some really good songs on them, as well as some inevitable filler.

Tangerine Dream - Quantum Gate

I just kind of love this stuff, all synth soundscapes to just trance out on.

Liam Gallagher - As You Were. Def. better than the Beady Eye stuff but still not on the level of Noel's solo stuff.

Foo Fighters - Concrete and Gold. I'm just not into this. I've listened probably 4 times since it came out and it just lands with a thud. Some of it is okay and it's not as bloated as SH or as wretched as OBO but still.....

I really try with the Foo Fighters, but I can't get into them.  I gave the new album a listen and found it pretty perfunctory.  Dave Grohl seems like a genuinely nice and chill guy, but his music is just so bland and dad rock to me.  I did enjoy There Is Nothing Left to Lose and a couple of tracks from other albums, hell I even saw them live (and it was a pretty good show actually).  It's just the music.  I can't be bothered to ever actively put them on, but hey, they must be doing something right.  I know some people who are huge fans, so to each their own.

Will give that new Liam Gallagher album a listen, but yeah, his brother's stuff is more interesting to me (his brother overall is).  Liam is just nuts and his endless rants aren't helping his case, dude is 45, like come on.

so the first 3 FF albums are golden pretty much straight through, the next few are crap or so i've heard <i've only heard One By One and it's total sh**>, THEN Wasting Light happened and they were on the right track again in a big way. Sonic Highways is way to long and the free EP Saint Cecilia is way better. The new one just isn't memorable.
