Boom-cha!
« on: November 01, 2008, 08:00:39 PM »
Just curious... Is there an "official" way to spell "boom-cha"? I've seen it "Boomcha," "boom-cha," "Boom Cha," etc. I'd like to be proper when spelling the most awesome U2 lyric of all time...  ;)

Well according to the lyric booklet in Pop it's BOOM CHA. But I think Boom Cha! is the best way to spell it.  :D

The punctuation does add a bit of "oomph" to it!  :D (Or should I say... a bit of Boom Cha?!)

Agreed.  ;D And I don't think I'll be saying "Boom-hyphen-Cha!" when I sing along...  x)

Hmmm... I can't think of anything that would even come close to Boom Cha! I guess we'll find out in February... or March... eventually...

You should've named the thread the "Boom Cha Appreciation Thread"  ;D

I remember in the Discotheque clip when U2 were dressed up as the village people and were doing the Boom Chas I noticed Larry looking incredibly embarrassed and didn't seem to enjoy it as much as the other 3, you can tell that his movements are more subtle than Edge, Bono, and Adams.  ;D

Yeah, I noticed that, too! He looks completely mortified... Bono's all flamboyant, and Larry just does the bare minimum... x)

Oh, that would've been a perfect title...  :D

Larrys embarrassment was pointed out endless times on YouTube.

The Boom Chas are legendary.  The reason they work is the amount of energy that Bono and the Edge yell them out with.  And of course, the Village People video segment is classic.
