Set - List Changes
« on: February 23, 2009, 02:02:31 PM »
Bono during an interview on BBC's Radio 1 has mentioned that the internet's ability to reveal set - list has encouraged U2 to change the set - list during tours - even more than the previous tour.

Yeah !! Just heard that too, hopefully he is true to his word, not expecting Springsteen style changes but 5 or 6 songs a night changin is not much to expect.

U2 setlists hasn't changed that much. I am a big Springsteen fan and may be affected by it though.

Old songs they haven’t played the past couple of tours would be nice.

They should keep the new songs in the set and rotate the classics ;)

I'm guessing they might revitalise some Pop songs.

I'd love it it they made this a tour of songs from the more "experimental" albums... Unforgettable Fire, Achtung Baby, Zooropa, POP, and NLOTH.
ATYCLB and HTDAAB aren't all that great... and they were so showcased on the last tours. Maybe add Streets...
eh... it was a thought...

I've noticed that the set list on the last few tours has changed from leg to leg in a way that eliminates a lot of the more rocking songs in favor of softer ones.

Songs like The Fly, Until The End of the World, Discotheque, Mysterious Ways, I Will Follow...tend to show up in the early legs and get replaced by ballads later in the tour.  Has anyone else noticed this?  It definitely will affect when I choose to see the show this time around.

They need to drop everything from the previous 2 albums.  I guess they have to play "Beautiful Day" and "Vertigo", but that should really be it.

I'd love to hear a few songs off of Pop as well as some lesser played hits from Unforgettable Fire and Rattle and Hum.

It's time for "Silver and Gold" to make a return.  That and "Please".

Well lets hope somehow "Kite" makes it in there since I haven't seen it live enough.

I don't think that ballads will play as well in stadiums.  People in the nose bleeds don't want to hear Edge singing an acoustic version of Sunday Bloody Sunday again.  Jesus that was horribe.  What a waste.  That's the equivalent of using a Hummer to drive to the grocery store.
