October is among my three favorite U2 albums, which is weird because a couple of years ago, it probably would have been in the bottom three. The remastered version really improved my opinion of it. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Its "unfinished" or "raw" condition makes it perfect. Bono's words come straight from his heart, Edge truly is "on fire," and Adam and Larry have rarely been this aggressive. My favorite tracks include the title cut (bring it back live!), Tomorrow, Gloria, Is That All, I Threw A Brick, and the totally underrated I Fall Down. No, the album isn't polished or even well written, but it's more alive than the best albums of a dozen other bands I could name (way better than anything Coldplay have recorded thus far, IMO). Just a great, great listen.
