I think I have the flu so I'm visiting this thread because it always makes me feel better no matter the circumstances. It has a certain power just like the album. I hope you feel better soon Van.......Put on October and have a nice cup of green tea.

I just think it's awesome that the October thread has been going longer than any other. Glad to see some other fans of this album. There is a wee community that just cant take the fact its always at the bottom of the polls : ( I think the album is full of power - is it catchy commercial - probably not - but there are some great songs in there. I think there is a certain affinity with No Line to me - another album I think is under rated! I see where you're coming from. In some ways I feel like NLOTH is the companion album to October.

I was wondering.....when was the last time that a song from October besides Gloria or October was played in it's entirety in concert. My goodness was it the Unforgettable Fire tour or even the War tour? Why oh why won't they play any October songs on the 360 tour.
They could do an October medley ala Boy's medley on Vertigo.
Breathe, Magnificent, Boots, I Threw a Brick/Day Without Me, Gloria, October/No Line on the Horizon
How about that as an opening I know, I put a Boy song in there but ADWM works so well with ITABTAW as a lead in
I know it would be awesome to get some more rare songs to be played like Tomorrow or Rejoice. But we know how picky our boys are. With each new album there are going to be fewer and fewer older songs being played since U2's current or newer songs always dominate the set lists.
So here's to 2010 and U2 shakin things up.

Brilliant Matty. I too am hoping that they shake up the 2010 set list! I have always said that if U2 must play snippets of other songs, why not add their old songs instead of covers!! Throw out Blackbird or Stand By Me and add Tomorrow or October......even Rejoice or I Fall Down.....Come on U2 - play snippets of your own songs please!

I was listening to October the other day during a sad moment in my life and for some reason these lyrics just sang out to me. For that moment in time when I needed something, the song brought me the peace that I needed...........
And what am I to do Just tell me what am I supposed to say I can't change the world But I can change the world in me If I rejoice..............

There are so many powerful lyrics on this album. I don't know why more people just don't see it!

Because I can listen to the same songs a thousand times, and then a lyric will just hit me. And it makes sense. *Shuddering in awe*
