War is my U2 winter album. Winter is cold and harsh and my least favorite season. Therefore, War, which is a harsh album (and my least favorite of U2's), seems to fit. Also the New Year's Day video helps with the cold feeling... the snow and all...

I can definitely see that. I've always associated War with colder seasons, probably because the music videos and album artwork depicted snow and harsh climates. It's a great album, although October is still my favorite of the two. :)

October is almost over and I havent listened to October!! (I have been a little sidetracked by The Afghan Whigs who I saw 3x in concert in the last month... you know, concerts put you in the mood to listen to that band's music.)

But I'll rectify that this morning for sure!

I was listening to it this morning. I had some challenging stuff to do and got pumped by listening to October in the car. It's always my "Don't panic" album. :D

Tonight at a concert I went to they played a live version of Gloria from the Vertigo Tour over the sound system while we were waiting for the band to go on.

The crowd danced to it, clearly loving the groove but having no idea what it was. It was a glorious moment for me.

Very cool! I'm hoping the band will bring it back on the next tour.
