I think it was Tokyo.

I was thinking of the latest single released - the most recent. Try it again!

Is it Every Breaking Wave, then? I thought SFS was the latest single, it got a video and everything.

its SFS

OK, this is not exactly a 'blank', more a multiple choice.

According to Bill Flanagans U2 biography, At the end of the world (a book widely discredited by people close to U2) the following bizarre event happened when the band was in Tokyo for the final Zoo TV concerts:

a) Bono and Larry partied in a Japanese hot tub with the Japanese Prime Minister and Japans top porn star
b) Japans top gay rights group thought Adam was gay (based on his nude picture on the Achtung Baby album) and publicly invited him to perform nude at Tokyo's top gay club - an invitation which Adam turned down politely
c) Bono ditched his security detail and wandered drunk around Tokyo, then passed out and woke up in a different hotel - naked, surrounded by prostitutes, heroin needles and a live boa constrictor
d)  The Edge was harassed at U2's hotel by over 100 Japanese film buffs who wrongly believed him to be the author of several popular manga/anime movie soundtracks (which were actually written by a Korean man with a similar sounding name). As a tribute to his 'fake fans', the Edge penned 'one Minute Warning' for Mamoru Oshii's 1995 manga classic "Ghost in the Shell"
e) All of the above.
f) None of the above.

No the correct answer was C. Bono ditched his security detail and wandered drunk around Tokyo, then passed out and woke up in a different hotel - naked, surrounded by prostitutes, heroin needles and a live boa constrictor. Of course, this is all hearsay and recorded in a book written by a guy who wasn't there, who interviewed people who were also not there.

Man, I should have known that. I definitely recall hearing that somewhere, now that I think about it.

The name _____________ was given to the free concert in San Fransisco, in 1997.

Save the Yuppies - it was sarcasm, I recall, but some locals thought the concert was actually to aid wall-street bankers who had lost their jobs in the 1987 stock market crash.

In 1978, BLANK suggested that they change their name to U2.
