Pixies would be my favourite, but I never got to attend a Zoo TV American show.  Of the artists I have seen: Wembley with the Pogues, Lone Justice and Lou Reed was very good.  The Stop Sellafield gig with Public Enemy, Kraftwerk and BAD II was also entertaining.  I'd say PJ Harvey on Zooropa was a highlight, but would've preferred to see her supporting U2 on the Elevation Tour.

I went to Manchester on the elevation tour and it was the awful Kelis....i believe a week later in London it was the majestic Polly Jean.

Gutted!

Yes - Kelis was a bit of a low point.  I saw her in MCR too.  Nelly Furtado (I think), was also meant to be supporting, but didn't show/

I went the first night in London and I can't even remember who the support was...  My cousin went to the PJ gig and could've got me in but was too lazy to call to tell me she had complimentary tickets  :P

No christmas card for her that year...

She keeps *making it up to me* with tickets to see Coldplay  :-\   If she's not there herself she watches the webcasts to check I am jumping up and down and enjoying it.  Big Brother is watching you watch Coldplay.

I enjoyed "Florence and the Machine" during 360.  One Republic was okay.

My favorite has to be Garbage.  PJ Harvey was an opener for a couple of shows that I went to during the Elevation tour, but at the time I wasn't really into her music so I didn't pay attention...bit of a regret.

I'm looking forward to seeing Beck open for them this fall.

Another "worst " was the dude from "Bush " and his new band (forgot their name) for Vertigo in Detroit.
Bush dude says, " hello! We are (whatever their name is)..."   Then rolled into a Bush song. Hilarious.

My favorites were the Pixies and Stereo MCs (the latter replaced Bjork when she dropped out of a Dublin Zooropa show).

The worst was a communist rap group called Marxman in Dublin in 1993. They did a little number called "F**k Columbus", which had the crowd cursing and hurling cups of beer at them. The Golden Horde were also terrible, and got a similar reaction.

You have to really hate a band to throw your beer at them when you've been packed in near the stage for hours. Irish crowds are tough, man.

Thankfully, I walked into the Tampa Vertigo show just as Rossdale was leaving the stage. They were calling themselves "The Institute".

I kinda like when U2 opened for U2 during SOI !!!

I think you mean one of your favorite openers was: None.

Which I generally agree with you.  I'm rarely impressed by openers these days.

Right. I really, really dislike openers - and I felt this way even way back in the 70's. When I spend my money, I want to see exactly who I want to see, and no one else. I guess I'm just an old fart, but there it is!

Interpol was pretty good in 2011.  Mumford & Sons in 2017 - eh, take it or leave it.  I think my brother is really into them though.

That's right! Thank you. And be thankful you walked in as they were walking off....
