A Song a Day....
« on: August 16, 2016, 07:21:52 AM »
Very simple concept just post a link to a song...

It can be a song you just want to share with everybody else because you love it...a song that describes your mood or day....a song that acts as a message....a song for the hell of it!

Whatever - just post a song, you can say why if you
want to and if you don't want to say why hey that is fine.

Just ONE rule - you can only post ONE song a day!

I'll kick us off - just because this was in my head after being the last song I listened to on way to work today and i love it...

I hope this worked...I'm not very good at computer stuff. This is a wonderful version. I miss Bowie!

Thanks! I've got an ancient computer and an old brain...not a good combination. Did you like the Bowie clip? I was lucky enough to see him in the early 70's and then again later in his leisure suit days...what a great showman he was.

I respect Bowie hugely although I have never been a big fan as such...

That clip was ok.

Low is my favourite album..

More related to bands I like and Bowie here are a couple of my favourite Bowie 'moments' his collaboration with Placebo on the song 'Without You I'm Nothing' and his cover of Pixies 'Cactus'....

Lyrically and musically I think this is one of the best songs ever written. I really have no words to describe how this one still touches me year after year. I still get chills from it.

By the way, thanks for sharing the live version of Decks Dark.  That is my favorite from AMSP and among my favorite Radiohead songs ever.

Part of the reason I like that Manics track is because it reminds me of the song Zooropa, and Futurology kind of reminds me of the album.  U2 might do it well, but in a way the sound of Futurology reminds me of 90's U2 already anyway.  Never-the-less, I definitely love Futurology, even if it isn't the Manics best album.  It might be my favorite of theirs since 2000.

Tough to choose, there've been a few songs on repeat all day. One of them doesn't appear to exist on youtube so here's what I'll share: Bob Dylan, "Dreamin' Of You", an outtake from 1997's album, Time Out of Mind, produced by Daniel Lanois, unreleased until 2008's Bootleg Series Volume 8: Tell tale Signs. One of the most mesmerizing and hypnotic Dylan songs I've heard.

Mine for today - it's basically a christmas song turned in its head and sounds fantastic today when it came on my music list today on a hot sunny morning.

Just glorious!
