Anybody heard this version of Salome before? I hadn't, and it's probably one of my favorites now: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

You can tell this was probably recorded shortly after R&H. Interesting they recorded a song so many different ways and it still couldn't find a spot on Achtung Baby.

After the David Bowie song posted yesterday, I thought I'd contribute one that has in the past year become a favorite of mine:

Behold!

Every time I read people being anxious about the new u2 record bemoaning rock music etc is dead i just go to stuff like this and smile knowing that it is far, far from the case...in fact it is in rude health.

Seriously how f****** good is this?...

I've always appreciated the concept behind this song, almost as if it's comparing the fall of Rome to a broken relationship. Brilliant!

I hope this worked...I'm not very good at computer stuff. This is a wonderful version. I miss Bowie!

Works perfectly.
Thanks! I've got an ancient computer and an old brain...not a good combination. Did you like the Bowie clip? I was lucky enough to see him in the early 70's and then again later in his leisure suit days...what a great showman he was.

I respect Bowie hugely although I have never been a big fan as such...

That clip was ok.

Low is my favourite album..

More related to bands I like and Bowie here are a couple of my favourite Bowie 'moments' his collaboration with Placebo on the song 'Without You I'm Nothing' and his cover of Pixies 'Cactus'....

Not sure why, but I woke up with A Different Kind of Blue in my head. I just love the addictive, melodic chorus. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

The best Detroit band of the last 10 years played their final gig this past Saturday. They were called 800beloved, and they sounded like this:   You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Atmospheric, a little disturbing perhaps, but what's with them hairy things?
