The Secret Lives of All Night Radios - Kevin Kerby

Just a great song, chorus sticks in your head forever, and the lyrics are beautiful.

You stay up late
And sit through songs that you just hate
In case they play your favorite one
And if they do
Everything is right and true
The signal comes in pure and strong

If you're at all familiar with A Perfect Circle's body of work, this new song from them is going to come as more than a little bit of a shock. It would fit in perfectly on SOE, and that's not a bad thing at all - from either end.    You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Metric's new single "Dark Saturday" is great. I've always loved this band.

Edit: They've released a video for another new song of theirs too and I love it! Really looking forward to their new album now. Their last album was probably my least favourite of theirs.

Big fan of Metric. Bit underwhelmed with their last album, Pagans in Vegas, but Synthetica before that is awesome. Whilst I prefer the direction the new songs seem to be taking, on initial listens they are still well off Synthetica levels. Will give the new songs some time to sink in (I tend to find that music I like the best doesn't grab me on first listen - probably means there is more depth to the songs and not one hit wonder style material.

I have posted previously about Gang of Youths who I think are awesome. In the spirit of a song a day, have a song of theirs called Still Unbeaten Life on repeat lately. I would post a Youtube link but I cant even find one. It is off an EP called Let Me Be Clear (their most recent album Go Farther Into Lightness is ridiculously good). Is an epic builder of a song in the mold of Bad.

Great to see another Metric fan here! I've loved them since they released Monster Hospital. I too wasn't so keen on Pagans In Vegas, that album disappointed me. Going by the two new songs though I think (at least I hope!) I'm going to like the new album a lot more. I feel the same regarding some of my favourite songs/albums being ones that didn't initially grab me that much. Often songs I find instantly catchy and likeable I can grow bored with, but of course that doesn't apply to all music I love. I wish I was going to see Metric on their forthcoming tour but, as usual, they're not coming to Wales. After just buying tickets to see Arctic Monkeys in London next month I can't afford any more expenses but maybe one day I'll get to see them.

I'm not familiar with Gangs Of Youths but I'll have to try and check them out.

As for a song a day, here's my choice for today. Yup, it's the AM's with one of my favourite songs of theirs (and a now pretty iconic and hilarious video to boot) - Cornerstone:

Back on Metric, really digging their new album. Best song is called Risk. Much better than the 3 pre album releases/singles.
