Mastodon's here on May 16...haven't seen 'em since the Crack The Skye tour and I really wanna go, but Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights are extremely bad nights for me now as far as going to concerts goes. Probably missing Austra next month for the same reason.    :(

Hopefully, my sched will change back to something more conducive to nightlife.

So this year, I've got the Flaming Lips at Brixton Academy on the 21st, then Elbow at Hammersmith Apollo in March, Thievery Corporation at the Roundhouse the day after, Peter Hook & The Light at Concorde 2 a couple of days after that, Factory Floor at Heaven at the end of March, Soulwax at Brixton Electric in April, Factory Floor (again) doing a soundtrack for Metropolis in the Science Museum and finally Kraftwerk at the Bord Gais in Dublin at the beginning of June.

So far (definites):

Jan 24 - Alter Bridge/Nonpoint
July 1 - U2/OneRepublic
July 18 - Tom Petty
August 11 - Foreigner/Cheap Trick

Possibly seeing Metallica (when/if they tour around here), maybe the Chicago U2 show, Foo Fighters (should be touring toward the end of the year), maybe Roger Waters if I can score cheaper tickets, possibly the Killers if they tour this year, and I'm sure there'll be another concert or two announced by other artists that I'll want to see. We have a local outdoor venue that tends to get a lot of classic artists, so I might grab lawn seats for those. Main ones I'm really excited for are Alter Bridge, U2, and Tom Petty (especially Petty since he's been on my to-see list for years).

So far I just have U2 on 6/3.

I expect I'll be seeing Depeche Mode this year, assuming they hit the US after their European leg.  I think this might be the first time I'll see both bands the same year since 2001.

I'm from Michigan myself, Cleveland and Chicago feel like second homes to me (since I go there so much for conventions or concerts).  ;) I'm happy that Cleveland fans are finally getting another U2 concert since it's been a while since the last one (Vertigo tour maybe?).

Still crossing my fingers that Michigan will get U2 on the continuation of the I&E tour, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Radiohead just announced a few more North American dates. I REALLY want to get tickets but I've heard they're nearly impossible. Anybody have any tips?
