it's great they're touring i wish i'd have seen them last year

I had no idea that it had been a decade since they were last here (I was at that show). I guess they've done so many shows in the region - Grand Rapids (near Maynard's hometown) and Toledo, Ohio - that it just kinda feels like they've been here every couple of years or so.

edit: oh, and I forgot this - 2 local radio stations are saying that The Eagles are trying to recruit Vince Gill to step in for the late Glenn Frey. That would be a) so crazy it could actually work, and b) a massive upgrade at that position.

Wow, that's nuts. $80 for nosebleeds is steep, but I guess Sheeran is one of the few popular artists today who can charge that. I've heard his tickets are hard to come by, especially in Europe (dang scalpers).

yea i didn't think it would be *AS* big a deal here but yea he's the only "big name young artist" i've tried to see in years. 80 is stupid high but unfortunately i'm used to it. it's part of my wifes bday gift, the other part is Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey

Detroit's a Saturday night...in a venue that only holds 1,000. Can probably forget about getting tix for that.
I just  ordered tickets from venue website yesterday. Was surprised they were still available. You may be in luck if you try soon.

Just got tix for Depeche Mode, and managed to get decent (not great) seats without opting for the expensive VIP package.  So let's see:

The Time/Sheila E.
Jean-Michel Jarre
U2
Metallica
Depeche Mode

I'm also debating now on Hall & Oates/Tears for Fears.  This year is shaping up to be the biggest concert year for me in a while.
If you can get to Tears for Fears, DO IT! Saw them fairly recently at a small venue called Freedom Hill and they were incredible live...better than when I saw them in the 80's.

Tickets already bought. Seeing them and H&O on the same bill is kind of perfect. The only way it would be better is if it was a triple bill with Huey Lewis.

I missed out on Tool tickets, but I honestly might bite the bullet and pay Stubhub prices for that show.

They've also announced a few more dates, mostly in Canada.

Do you ever go to shows in Toronto? It's about a 4-hr drive for you, just like for me.

missy would be great but you couldn't pay me to watch bjork. her voice is nails on a chalkboard.

obviously NIN would be the draw for me.

I actually have. I saw the I+E tour in Toronto and I'm probably going back to see Metallica this summer. I have cousins that live in the area.

That Ontario show is sold out though too so there's not much of a point.
