I guess we should be prepared for major traffic difficulties that weekend.

PASADENA >> The simultaneous staging of five events during a weekend in May including two rock concerts at the Rose Bowl drawing 120,000 people sent traffic engineers into overdrive last week.

Adding to worries of nightmarish gridlock on May 20 and May 21 were notices from Caltrans saying intensified pavement work on the 210 Freeway will keep the eastbound right lane through the arroyo closed for eight months and force the shutdown of four on-ramps and off-ramps, making traffic even worse.

But as whispers of a Pasadena-type Carmageddon began, Caltrans reversed itself, saying the closed on- and off-ramps will be re-opened that weekend but the right lane from Ocean View Boulevard to Lincoln Avenue will remain closed.

that sounds like a headache idea. best transportation is uber or rent a car just for ease.

Is RV parking strictly RV? Parking opens at 12:30. Very pricy parking, $160

I've heard parking is a nightmare, but I'm going to do it so that I don't have to worry about finding a ride after the show. My family is driving in from Las Vegas. Does anyone know the rules about parking. If I buy a pass, could I go in early to try to catch the soundcheck and then leave and come back later for the show?

Most venues have a no reenter policy for the sake of traffic and money

Any suggestions for parking for someone who wants to get there early in the morning for GA? The Rose Bowl lots open later at around 2:30pm, I think. Maybe park in Old Town Pasadena which is like 1.5 miles away and walk or Uber there? and then if they wrist bands head back later on shuttle that leaves from Old Town Pasadena?

I'd be careful if you park your car somewhere else. It's likely to get towed.

I can't seem to find the right thread--anyone know details on the GA line in Pasadena for the May 20th show?  Pre-line location?  Time?  Handing out wristbands?

You're in the right thread. They haven't released any news yet. Patience
