Not to open a can of worms, but when I try to access the forum from my work computer, I get a message that reads: Sorry Guest, you are banned from using this forum."  Any ideas why this is happening?

Can you still access the forum from your home machine?

That's the most likely reason.

So if you work in a building with say 1,000 people in it all using the same or same range of IP's and somebody has been spamming a forum and gets banned for example, a blanket ban on that IP address also excludes another user/other innocent users from logging in from that workplace.

If so that should be looked at with a view to fixing...I would imagine there would be a workaround to stop this happening.

Interesting, no one else at work has mentioned a remote interest in U2. I will have to ask IT who had the laptop before me.

So Matt, (oh and thanks for not outing me on the forum!), is there a way to fix that?

Next time you're at work and get that message, go to Google and ask "what's my IP" -- then PM me with whatever your IP address is. We'll have to look manually to see if it matches an existing ban.

Okay. This can happen sometimes, especially with a non-static IP address. And sometimes even by accident. But as m2 said, send it and we can deal with it.

But in the meantime, you should really watch your step, so we don't have to completely ban you.  ;D
