Here's what I think they could do:

Out Of Control
I Will Follow
Gloria
October
New Year's Day

Where The Streets Have No Name
I Still Haven't Found
With Or Without You
Bullet The Blue Sky
Running To Stand Still
Red Hill Mining Town
In God's Country
Trip Through Your Wires
One Tree Hill
Exit
Mothers of The Disappeared

Desire
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Bad
Pride
Angel Of Harlem
40

Start with some pre-Joshua Tree songs in chronological order to show context.  Include the October into New Year's Day sequel like the old times!

Then, lights out and into Streets for the Joshua Tree in its entirety.  (It's got to be in chronological order, or there's no point).

Then a few extra 80s hits at the end, including the Sunday-Bad Live Aid set, and a few nods to Rattle and Hum, given that it was all a similar time period.

Nothing from the 90s or 00s...

Give or take a song or two, I think you have hit the nail on the head.
This can work out for me, include Wanderer and Heartland and it will
be a great tour!

Start concert with pre-Joshua Tree hits such as:

I will follow
Electric company
Gloria
New Year's Day
Surrender
Bad

Then do Joshua Tree beginning to end in order.

For Encore:

Vertigo
Beautiful Day
One
40 (the only way to end this concert - please do in Chicago, Philly, DC, and/or Cleveland please!)

I've mentioned this elsewhere on the boards, but I'd like to see a nod to POP to commemorate the 20th anniversary.

To that end, I'd like them to play PLEASE as the lead-in to WTSHNN. It worked great for the POPMART tour and come on -- it's POP's anniversary too!

Let's be realistic : they won't only play songs from the 80's.

Probably, but it would be cool if they did.

Wire would be a pleasant surprise. But I imagine it would be difficult live. I would like to hear Help, People Get Ready, Springhill and the sorts.

For me Drowning Man is a studio track.  I don't think it would translate well to the live stage.  And that is always going to be a major consideration for the band.  Bono would also struggle with the vocal delivery.  Never mind Hawkmoon.

They rehearsed it for the 360 tour.... and it sounded fantastic. Check out the video.

Yeah, that video is great. Maybe (semi)acoustic on B stage?
This is such a beautiful song that they have to play one day,
so please band?

Lots of fans are saying they want to hear less hits....like mysterious ways and stuff. I gotta say I'd love to hear that song live simply cause i haven't seen the band live yet(1st time in June!). Lots of fans with multiple shows under there belts want b-sides. I guess this is U2's biggest challenge, putting together a set-list that pleases everybody. I'd love to hear deep cuts but its rough if you can only get to one show. A good balance of hits and deep tracks makes a good set....with hopefully a couple new songs.

Sure, I've seen U2 loads, and I wouldn't mind them playing less warhorses, but most people see U2 at most once per tour, and I guess they'd be disappointed if they don't put some of the big hitters in. I can't see a set without Vertigo, or Beautiful Day, going down well.
