Unfortunately - "The Best Thing About You Is Me" - is the song DJ Kygo premiered. Ugh!

Why such a long title? "The Best Thing" is such a simpler title than "The Best Thing About You Is Me"

We could make an endless list of shorter titles to their songs..

I'm surprised Bono's been ok with some short titles.

Shouldn't "With or Without You" really be titled "I Can't Live With Or Without You"? And shouldn't "Beautiful Day" be "It's A Beautiful Day To Let It Get Away"? And "Invisible" should really be titled "Invisible (You Don't See Me But You Will)".

This is really exciting news!  While the long titles made me groan, I am excited about "The Best Thing About You Is Me".  I hope they keep the same melody from the chorus of the Kygo version.  That sonic architecture was amazing...

"There wasn't clarity to some of the mixes [on SOI] and we needed to be a little bit more inventive sonically. I mean, that record, when we performed it live, the songs became very, very masculine and very tough and we didn't really capture that on the record. So again one of the reasons why we're trying to slow this down a bit is we really want to get the mixes right. We don't want a soup. We want a consommé."

I'm a bit young generally for a U2 fan (25), but I gotta say I don't get the hate for "Best Thing." Probably helps that I'm also a fan of a lot of Kygo's stuff, but it's nice to see the guys doing something *truly* fresh and collaborate with a new artist in a different genre. I fell in love with that track the first time I heard it, and have been stoked about getting a studio version ever since!

I agree I think it could be a very big summer hit.

I think it could have been! I think if it were to be sent to radio, the sound would have to be updated a little bit. The vocal chop during the chorus (or "drop") is a bit outdated (i.e Chainsmokers, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Grandtheft, etc.), but it certainly sounded like a hit for the time Kygo originally dropped it.

my favorite part of the news:

(But Adam goes beyond the political climate as the reason for not releasing Songs Of Experience yet, and offers some musical reasons, too:

"There wasn't clarity to some of the mixes [on SOI] and we needed to be a little bit more inventive sonically. I mean, that record, when we performed it live, the songs became very, very masculine and very tough and we didn't really capture that on the record.

This is music to my ears. It echoes Bono's regret about SoI sounding too polished and not rough enough.

And I'd rather Lillywhite helping U2 achieve that than Ryan Tedder.

So... Adam said SoE was 70% done a couple years ago. It's now 85% done. We're looking at another two years. ;)

The Best Thing About You Is Me = TBTAYIM

The Little Things That You Give Away = TLTTYGA

The whole album should just be an anagram.

Even if the Kygo version is bad, there's no concrete reason to think the real one will be bad too. Production is everything.

The only important news in this is that they're going to studio with Lillywhite. The rest is just empty claims that don't mean anything.

The whole song is nothing more than a bad EDM Song For Someone clone. I don't hear anything redeeming in the KYGO remix.
