Correct me if I'm wrong - the two biggest sets (vinyl x 7) and the CD (x 4) all contain exactly the same stuff. Songs, books photos etc - you just decide whether you want vinyl or cd correct?

I think so, yes. But hoping someone will correct that if it's wrong.

Thank you. I'm sure it is, now that I have researched it a little more.

Nice.  $25 for all the audio on iTunes.  I'm sure the box and goodies are pretty, but it just gets harder to justify re-buying the same thing over and over.  In this case, even assuming we need to buy the whole thing to get what we want, the price makes a lot more sense if I'm only interested in the new stuff.

This really turns me off.  We already had a JT box set.  If this was about anything other than making (even more) money, they could easily just release the new remixes individually or as a single disc.  Or, God forbid, send it out to members of their overpriced fan club.

I'm in this camp really. Talk about flogging a dead horse. And why not give fans more for their money? What harm would there be in passing on demos or complete versions of songs that didn't make it to albums and will never see the light of day?

Rather than telling fans 'thanks for a great life' during a live show, why not put your money where your mouth is and give them something more than an empty gesture.

And stop reselling the same 30 year old songs multiple times over to the same people.. It does come across as greed to me.

Still... for those excited by this, good for you.

Do you have the 2007 version?  I thought that was vastly improved from the original CD.  I don't have any complaints of that remaster, other than maybe the very last note of MOTD seeming to get louder at the end.  Which isn't a problem per se, it just always surprises me when I hear it now.

Hm, I dunno.  It still starts quietly overall, but is far more audible than the initial CD pressing.  Maybe others here have thoughts on it, but I've been pretty happy with it.

Wow, timing.  The set is released the day before I see them on this tour.  I knew it would be released in conjunction with the tour, but it's literally the day before the Chicago show.

The reason there are so many eccentricities on the album is to make you talk about it. Like the OMNI chord on the album or the low volumes. Are you talking about it? Does it create mystery? Yes, it seemed to work.

I'm not buying any of this, and here's why: Too much stuff I already have, and it drives me bonkers when bands don't release full shows (minus covers, which I get can be tricky).

No Bad, UnFire and Spanish Eyes?

Nope.

Yeah, it's kind of awful they gutted the rarest songs from the set.  Makes me re-think getting the Paris audio, at least to have TUF live.

I'm not spending over $100 on this either, but it's good that people who want it can buy it if they choose to and can afford it.  Thanks to an tha for the helpful google play suggestion for those of us on more limited budgets who'd like to hear it.
