I saw Patti Smith in concert last night....

..... and, holy cow, does she still "got it". An excellent 2-hour set, opening with the entirety of her seminal debut, Horses, and ending with a blistering cover of The Who's My Generation, the show was fantastic.

Tonight, I'm going to see every U2 fan's favorite folk-rockers, The Lumineers!

It was such a good show. Hearing her voice, and seeing her performance, it's hard to believe that she's 70.

One of the best, if not the best live track I have ever witnessed was My Blakean Year performed by her in Brooklyn.

Were some of her hard-core fans at the show upset that she was playing an old album of hers in its entirety and, therefore, her becoming a "heritage act"??

;)

What is it in Royal Oak?

Royal Oak show sold out a while back, I believe. I was surprised to see that since Royal Oak isn't a terribly small venue, but it sounds like she still puts on a fantastic show so the demand is there.

I've never really gotten into her music, but maybe I'll revisit it.

I saw her at St. Andrews Hall seven years ago or so...she TORE IT UP! Incredible live even now.

I almost went to that exact Patti Smith show and I'm kicking myself for not going! Sounds like a great time. Looking forward to seeing The Lumineers open for U2 in Pittsburgh.
