..... last night in Pittsburgh. Sure, there isn't much in the way of creativity in their music; but, it is nice to hear 10,000+ singing along to folk-rock, as opposed to the bland, garbage excuse that passes as "pop music" nowadays. As I'll be seeing U2 in both Pittsburgh and Chicago, I am excited to see the Lumineers again, as they are opening up for both shows.
Also, an excellent Icelandic band by the name of Kaleo opened (as well as group called SUTSO, but I missed their set, largely due to how long and slow-moving the beer lines were). If you're a fan of hard-hitting, driving blues-rock, then definitely look them up.
The excellent Galactic was in town tonight, but I missed their show, thanks to work. Apparently, Steve Martin & Edie Birckel were also in town tonight.
My next show will be the fantastic desert-blues band from Mali, Tinariwen.
