I love this track, but in general I'm a big fan of Zooropa.  I feel like it needs a remastering though, as some parts in the mix sound more muted than others.  The Junk Day Mix is also killer.   Anyway, would love to hear it live someday.

All four members are kicking ass on this track but Adam is at another level.

Oh I love this subtle, hypnotic rock tune! It took me a long time to fully appreciate it's genius but I got there eventually...it's Bono at his best lyrically and the masterful band arrangement cranks up the tension to boiling point before it explodes into that epic outro. And that single note (guitar/synth?) that hovers in the background for the majority of the song is mesmerising, I seriously think that might well be my favourite thing about the song! It's a beautiful, dirty day :D

The only thing better than Dirty Day is Dirty Day live in Australia.

Dirty Day live in Sydney has an additional solo by Edge that isn't on the Studio version. That live performance is a bit of a 'hidden' classic U2 moment. It rarely happens that Edge experiments with additional guitar bits that are not on the Album. That's more Bono's thing (Shine like stars, Do you hear me coming love, do you hear me call in… One).

I wish there was a blend tho, because I really like Dirty Day studio version for its production.

Zooropa is my favorite U2 album along Boy, TUF and The Passengers' album, so Dirty Day has a special place in my heart.

The bass line is amazing and I like how low key the song sounds until it has those bursts of excitement. Of course, I love how it sounds just like midnight. It is a cool song. However, it is not in my top tier tracks of Zooropa.

Lyrically, I think it is a little overrated. Maybe I don't get it, but for me it is just a bunch of random punchlines that sounds cool individually, but that don't go anywhere together.

this added live guitar solo reminds me a lot of new york live... when edge adds this extra solo to these two songs it just turns the song into a masterpiece... same could be said for bad and with or without you (joshua tree tour) hidden gems for sure

I'm with you on New York, there's a decent song in there somewhere screaming to get out. It never quite manages to go feral on record though which is a shame.

It's great. Agree with comments about Sydney live version..
A lot of praise for the bass, which I get.. but can we be sure it wasn't edge that came out with the main riff and Adam just follows..? That's how I always perceived it for some reason.

Also listen to W.A.N.D by flaming lips, which also taps into this golden riff.
The  Beady eye song someone posted on here nearly had me in tears with laughter...thanks!

I like it but it would've been much better if Edge wasn't pushed miles away back in the mix.
