An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart Appreciation Thread

Amazing song that I don't think gets enough love around here... does anyone else adore this track as much as I do? Incredible drumming, interesting bassline (one of Adam's best), and a seemless transition into Into the Heart.

Can we give a little more appreciation to one of the band's greatest early tracks?

And I've always seen them as 1 track.

Was listening to this today at work.  Always appreciated this song and how it transitions into out of control.

the usa has them seperated. the original cd pressing has Cat as 6:16 and Heart as 1:58 while the 08 remaster has them at 4:46 and 3:27

Great song. Would love to hear it live, as they dropped it from the setlist before my Vertigo Tour show.

I knew about the difference between the U.S. and U.K. versions... but I didn't know they chose to separate them still for the remaster. Into the Heart doesn't work when you don't introduce it with An Cat Dubh (I know it's still listed before it, but you know what I mean).

Whether it's classed as 1 or 2 songs I adore it/them! The highlight of the Boy album for me, although I really love that whole album anyway. :)

Very intense combo with Into the Heart...lyrics are wonderful, Edge's guitar hauntingly beautiful, Adam's part is so good...can't beat the drums. Just wonderful.

I love it, but hate that it's separated as two tracks on my copy of it.

Oh, and I also love the dvd version, the handshake between Edge and Adam at the end...

My one complaint with the studio version is the glockenspiel... I understand that it's there to tie the song into the rest of the album thematically, but it take S away from the intensity of the song.

Oh, and Bono's faux-British accent can be annoying at times!
