I know it's a cash grab but I'm shelling out the $120 for a nice get up of the Joshua Tree with all the remixes.   Can't wait

Meh. The only differences from the original are the ways it's worse. And the more of the song we get to hear the worse it will be since Bono can't hit those notes anymore. It's weird that they chose the most vocally challenging song on TJT to re-record. But then, Bono doesn't seem to be very self-aware these days.

Agreed! Minimalistic changes that indeed improve the the older version. I'm also not upset with Bono's vocals, the snippet cuts off at the most essential bit of the song but you can just about hear that Bono is indeed in 'reach' of the same register as the original. I'm optimistic!

They could have added a different song or version on the B side tho... Both sides the same seems a bit cheeky... :-(

Lol, the vocal is as predicted.. inferior
Should have left vocal and just added the brass..
I'm willing to wager the big note he is about to hit is probably from the original.. funny how they stop the clip where they do.... That's the bit everyone wants to hear.. can he hit the note or not?! Some studio trickery could be at play, me thinks..

Can someone more musically inclined than me, tell us whether or not it's recorded in a lower key as many suggested would happen during the JT2017 tour?

I like the horns and  I think the vocals are fine.....so far.  I believe the vocals for the entire song were re-recorded for this mix.  I doubt Lillywhite would use bits and pieces from from 2017 and 1987.

We have to wait until the release date to hear him grasp for the high note?

It's hard to tell when you have to be conscious of cranking up the volume in a work setting, but right before the clip ends at 1:14.50, it sounds like he may have hit the high notes right at the beginning of the chorus.
