For those of us wanting a Blu-ray/DVD Release of TJT 2017, history IS on our side in that case. It's not like U2 to NOT document a tour of theirs on video for the fans. It doesn't even matter where they choose to shoot it, as their general practice for the most part has been to shoot very late in the tour when the shows are at their possible best. Take PopMart (Mexico City) and ZOO TV (Sydney) for example... That said, if they don't shoot in Dublin, where they said the origins for The Joshua Tree are there, I would be disappointed.

I too think they will film a show- though planning and logistics will probably be the biggest factor regarding location. What I really hope is that the director does not film it like a music video (like some said Vertigo Chicago and Rosebowl 360 was shot) whereby the shots jump around frenetically without showing the band/stage.

Agreed. More footage of the stage and visuals, less intentially jerky camera shots. The band needs to get Ned O'Hanlon back. Hamish Hamilton doesn't make good concert videos.

Even worst than jerky camera movements on the 360 DVD was the nonstop superimposed shots! The jerky movements on that DVD were far less bad than either Chicago or Boston, sans Vertigo, which I thought was kind of appropriate, given the definition of the word :D

vancouver is deserving of one:

97 mexico was filmed the show before us
05 tour rehearsals were here (city of blinding lights video was also filmed here) and chicago got the dvd (shows right after vancouver)
09 rose bowl was filmed, again show before us
15 tour rehearsals again for almost a month and tour opened here
17 same as 15

i know itll never happen for a the first show in a tour but one can always hope...

I don't care WHERE they film it, as long as they film it. :)

I just want the equivalent of the audio released on their most recent Paris blu-ray.

Dudes and dude-ettes... it is fantastic.

Even if you go back to the original JT tour it was one day after Save the Yuppies and only a few after Denver for R&H.

East Rutherford looks like a good candidate. Close proximity to the largest media centre in the world, two shows for editing, ample practice before committing to tape also a large market that will have a connection with the show. Have U2 ever released Live in New York?

East Rutherford is most likely.

2 shows. In the US. End of leg one so the nerves will be a bit smaller and the show slicker.

So are we making New Jersey as our official prediction for a TJT2017 tour video?

Either that or Eugene, 1997. One of the two.
