Got a couple that pop in my head.  Interesting to see a good list going

REM - Orange Crush

Talking Heads - Once in a Lifetime

Beatles - We Can Work It Out  (dueling Edge-Bono vocals)

One of Maiden's very best songs, and one of the few metal songs U2 could really pull off:   You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I think Bono could perform R.E.M.'s Drive very well.

Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones

Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival

Both of these were done by U2 as Achtung Baby B-Sides.  Youtube them.  Your dreams will become reality

The thread is titled "Your dream songs for U2 to cover live", though. U2 have never performed those before.

Yes, live. Thank you!

Edge would destroy these two songs live. Be great!

U2 covering Simple Minds would be cool, like that song "Let there be love"

eh "dream" is a bit strong but I always thought they could do The Libertines - Can't Stand Me Now and make it their own and it would work pretty well.

Simple Minds or The Alarm would be a nice touch especially at the JT nostalgia tour. Smiths "Please, Please..." or Depeche Mode's "Policy of Truth" would be out of character and thus cool to me.
