Morrissey - The Last Of The Famous International Playboys
Wings - Hi Hi Hi
Led Zeppelin - Rock And Roll
Simple Minds - Let There Be Love
Alarm - Unsafe Building
U2 covering Simple Minds would be cool, like that song "Let there be love"

Ghostdancing would be my choice.

Simple Minds or The Alarm would be a nice touch especially at the JT nostalgia tour. Smiths "Please, Please..." or Depeche Mode's "Policy of Truth" would be out of character and thus cool to me.
I agree, 80's would work out fine for U2JT.

The National Front Disco by Morrissey.

Add a bit of early U2 rawness and Bono's excellence for singing about other characters as opposed to himself and you've got a great cover perhaps not so far removed from U2. I think it's the one song where Morrissey and Bono come closest to mimicking each other. Or maybe that's just me

'ooohhhhhhhhh the National'

Gas Panic by Oasis. Think Bono would nail that lyric.

Great song, but would be odd to hear it without Claptons raspy vocals. Edge is just to clean. Also don't think he'd be able to do the guitar parts.

I'm just dreaming out loud as far as the vocals...but I do think he'd cover the guitar just fine.

Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones

Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival

Everybody wants to rule the world - Tears for Fears

Where the Streets Have No Name (I Can't Take My Eyes off You) - Pet Shop Boys

During ZooTV (and to an extent Popmart), Bono, on occasion, impersonated the deadpan vocals of the Pet Shop Boys during live performances of Streets. U2 even altered Streets a little bit during Popmart to make it a dancier arrangement, a homage to the Pet Shop Boys.

That's the most "U2 sounding" REM song
