Did not attend any of the original dates, was too young.

I'll be at three dates for TJT30 - Pittsburgh, Louisville and Cleveland.  Two of the shows I have to work, but I should still get to see most of the show.

No and probably not.
We didn't get the original JT tour in Australia and we aren't getting this one either.

They really haven't been very good to their fans down under over the years have they?

How does they compare to similar 'sized' acts in terms of coming down to your part of the world?

U2 visits = 1984, 1989, 1993, 1998, 2006, 2010
Coldplay = 2001, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2014 (one show) 2016
That speaks volumes

Original - Nov. 12th, 1987 - BC Place, Vancouver
TJT30 - May 12, 2017 - BC Place, Vancouver
May 14, 2017 - Century Link Field, Seattle

Was at Western Washington University in 1987.  Took a bus from school up to the show.
Going back to Vancouver with a friend that was also at the original.  Was in the nosebleeds for the original - excited to be GA this time around!

From what I understand, I think only Vancouver and Dublin are hosting the original and the current shows at the same stadium.  I know BC Place has been remodeled and now has a retractable roof.  Not sure about Croke Park.

My first U2 show was 11/17/87 at the Coliseum in L.A. And unless my girlfriend totally drops the ball I'll be at the Seattle show next month. #FingersCrossed

They really haven't been very good to their fans down under over the years have they?

How does they compare to similar 'sized' acts in terms of coming down to your part of the world?

According to ATU2 tours stats, they have been to Oceania 81 times, placing Australia & New Zealand 3rd on the list of most visited continents.  Granted there is a big drop off from Europe in second at 818 to 3rd place, but down under is not the easiest place to get to.

1st time they were down there was in 1984.  Most recent was 2010 so that averages out to a bit of once every 3 years. So, in theory, they should have been there between now and 2010.

Springsteen has been there 60 times as one comparison.  That spans 1985 - 2017
Pink Floyd was there 24 times form 1971 - 1988
Coldplay 70 times from 2001 - 2016

seems that they get a roughish deal from many artists then....thanks for the research!

Well, it is Australia. It's very expensive to put on shows there.
