If there is a consensus that people would prefer to see the result after they have voted i'll change it.

I just wanted to avoid people not voting if they come across poll with a few hours to go for example and see one song 20 votes ahead and think it is pointless voting or people voting just to close a gap etc...as well as have a twist becaue it is the final.

If there is a strong feeling i have got it wrong i'll change it.

Let me know, folks.

But you can make it so that only the ones who have already voted can see the results.

Yes. Indeed - that is how did it in previous rounds but thought i'd do differently in this one...soreaults couldn't be posted "oh i can't believe bad is 20 ahead, thought it would be much closer" for example.

As i say if there is a strong feeling to change it i will.

I have NO idea. Bad is the first song I bought (Wide Awake In America). UTEOTW is the on of the first songs I played full on guitar. They're both not very well mixed on the album, but killing live!

I'll vote later  >:(

Can't argue with these two in the final. Big fan of both, but UTEOTW is my pick.

As luck would have it, my two favorite U2 songs.

But for my vote, it's got to be a song written about a friend of U2's, who on his 21st birthday, was given enough heroin to kill him (but then later showed up healthy at a U2 concert 30 years later, as being the subject of another song)...  A song called "Bad."

Well....this IS a difficult choice. Im gonna have to cogitate before committing to an answer. My Heart says Bad, My Head says UTEOTW

Along with Acrobat - these two make up my top 3 favorite U2 songs. They are both arguably U2's two best live numbers over the course of their careers.

I voted for UTEOTW, because I think the album version is better than the version of Bad on the UF.

shaping up to be fascinating battle if the comments so far are to be any guide...

QUESTION!

Would you the good people of this little part of the internet we inhabit like a 3rd place play off for this tournament featuring the two beaten semi finalists?

If there is enough demand i'll put a poll up.

We could then have a 1/2/3 for this tournament.

I also thought might be a good idea to have a 'hall of fame' thread where these kind of tournament results go in to be preserved and used as a guide to maybe running an annual edition of big 'events' and a definitive list of what the forum has deemed best song/album/dvd/tour etc etc over time.

Just an idea - thoughts...?

Sounds great to me an tha! I'd like to see The Fly and Streets battle for third place even though I voted for both in the semi-finals ;)
A 'Hall Of Fame' thread would be worthwhile too methinks so it's a thumbs up from this relatively new forum member!

As for my final vote...sorry 'Bad' but 'Until The End Of The World' reigns supreme thanks to it's killer groove, top notch Edge solo and riffs and Bono's superb lyrics and ice cool vocal delivery. Also, if I was going to try and convince a non-U2 fan of U2's greatness, I would get them to watch any live version of this song!

YES! Maybe Streets can win the 3rd place trophy? I also really like the hall of fame thread idea.

Bad. Just an amazing song, and one of the best live songs by any band ever.

Went for UTEOTW. In case it's a wrong vote - it won't be the end of the world
