You'd think they'd play a few different songs at the beginning and the end sometimes, just to make things a bit more interesting and fresh for themselves if nothing else!

I've had to give up trying to listen to/watch tonight's gig as every feed just keeps freezing up. I don't know if it's my computer or the feeds but it's damn annoying! Ah well. :)

Everything going in amd out all night. Didn't deviate at all from setlist or speech scripts. Somewhat surprising as they are in their hometown. Maybe that's just me being picky having listened to each show...haha. I'm sure being there was pretty incredible.

I was listening to air for 98% of the show the mixrs were not working maybe it had to do with the airplanes flying over. I am sure being there must have been fantastic. The setlist remained the same I predict at this point no major changes will be made moving forward. Pretty much the same.

Dublin must be bustling today!!!!
Yeah, really surprised they only scheduled 1 Dublin show. They could easily sell-out a 2nd on Sunday (23 July) as well, just from the hype and tourists and pilgrims.

Sadly it was something they tried to do but were denied.

Out of interest do you know why?

I know they are allowed only 3 concerts a year, with still one slot still available. It was strange why it wasn't a 2nd gig.

I think they are in the process of booking the third gig. I think they want diversity and spread out these shows.

croke park only gets up to three concerts a year. Coldplay was the first; U2 tonight was the second; and, The Rolling Stones have already been booked as the third.

Thanks cocamojoe for the Croaker story. Sounds like a stupid limit to me. But if Dublin wants to limit its touri$m boost, it affects me in no way.

I wondered if Bono would give a shoutout to Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington (I guess he did not in Dublin).

They might not have met, but Bennington was like Bono in that they both wrote lyrics from the heart and put these songs vulnerably and publicly out there. (Yes, some might argue LP's lyrics were screamy teen angst hyperbole).

Also, Bono had spoken about feeling low from Michael Hutchence's death, there are similarities to Bennington.

Well, as a gig it was fine, but in the context of the tour it was a lazy setlist, e.g., no ASOH is pretty unforgivable this time round in Dublin. As others have said here the script remained the same. For the home crowd, given it was a single night, the lads should hang their heads in shame. The Air Corps fly over was fantastic and exactly where it should have been (Streets). Sound was pretty good on the pitch, but the lack of U2 on screen for the pitch viewers is an issue when you cannot see them with the naked eye, you're just looking at a dead main stage. Finishing with Little Things was a total comedown. For the sole home show, it just lacked. Lads, I love you, but you really dropped the ball tonight. My 70+ year old father was there tonight (third time seeing U2), he wasn't impressed either, he loved Noel Gallagher on the other hand...

I honestly wasn't expecting any different. They Dublin shows for IE were average. And they had 8 nights in NY to switch things up but it stayed pretty much average then.
