I was there and enjoyed seeing it live. I agree that the brass wasn't exactly audible. The whole Salvation Army band background was well......weird....and I think it took away from the energy of the song.

If you're going to go on a nostalgia tour and basically be your own tribute band at least do it justice. Awful version.

I too was slightly perplexed by this

i can only assume a lack of knowledge of colliery brass bands from the video makers or an issue with 'rights'

it makes no sense at all to have salvation army in the video though

I think for Bono he's performing it how he should do, sensibly and how he should do as a 57 year old. Same goes with New Year's Day to a certain extent. Singing in a lower key more often will preserve his voice. That said I thought the Seattle version last night was tighter and with Bono having a better night vocally it made it sound a lot better.

I'm still surprised to see it getting disliked by a vast majority, always going to be difficult to do it justice
