Was just thinking about this thread, and why I love RHMT.
Have you ever been losing someone, or something, even maybe losing yourself, and holding on by the thinnest thread of hope or self...
It's U2 songs like RHMT that kept me hanging on during a very dark 5-6 year period of my life.
It's U2 songs like this, and others, that brought me back.
Okay...enough, Riffy!

MOTD is probably my favourite song off TJT.

Rarely have U2 sounded as understatedly heavy and atmospheric - a direction I for one wish they would go down more.

Never done much with the song live though have they those corny oh oh oh's kill the vibe of the song.
I don't think that I can place MOTD over Exit, but I agree with anything else you say. I wish U2 didn't obsess over nailing the anthemic aspect for their more emotional songs.

I just read this quote, and thought of this thread, or should I say, I thought of the songs..."For happiness you need security, but joy can spring even from the cliffs of despair".

I seriously dislike RHMT....

And always have done....

What is this big deal people have about it?

Thats quite alright. There are a number of u2 songs (mostly songs of this millenium), that many u2 fans rate, that i think are sub standard
